Microsoft showed off some of its upcoming 2008 titles at the Xbox 360 Spring Showcase, held in San Francisco, CA. The highlighted games included Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Too Human and Penny Arcade Adventures. First Metal Gear Solid 4 Review Hits the Web

The very first Metal Gear Solid 4 review has leaked, courtesy of the N4G Forums. Official UK Playstation Magazine gave MGS4 a perfect 10 out of 10. The game is scheduled to be released next month. I can’t wait!

The Reboot: Xbox 360 Blu-Ray in the Works?

A new Xbox 360 Blu-Ray rumor is circulating around the Web. Chinese newspaper Economic Daily News claims a subsidiary of computer hardware firm Asus has been chosen by Microsoft to produce internal Blu-Ray players for the Xbox 360. Also in this episode of http://www.rebootshow.com The Reboot with Rio Pesino, the Grand Theft Auto sales war between Sony and Microsoft rages on, fans of the PC version of EA Sports’ Madden series get left out in the cold for the second straight year and a pole dancing game may soon be coming to the Nintendo Wii.

Another Xbox 360 Blu-Ray Rumor Hits the Web

Chinese newspaper Economic Daily News is reporting that Microsoft has struck a deal with Pegasus Technology to produce internal Blu-Ray drives for the Xbox 360. The newspaper also claims that the Blu-Ray 360’s are scheduled to be released between July and September of this year. Now before you get all excited, keep in mind that Microsoft is once again denying the latest rumor, telling GamePro.com that they have “no plans to introduce a Blu-ray drive for Xbox 360.”

A few months back, Microsoft discontinued the production of its external HD-DVD drives due to Toshiba’s decision to concede the HD-Format war to Sony’s Blu-Ray.

Videogame chain Game Crazy held a number of Extreme GTA Experience Parties to celebrate the launch of one of the most anticipated games for 2008, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV. GTA IV has received rave reviews from just about every video game Web site out there, including Gamespot, Gametrailers and IGN. The Reboot’s Rio Pesino was at one of Game Crazy’s GTA IV Launch Parties, where hundreds of gamers waited until midnight to purchase their copy of the game.

Madden 09 Super Bowl Trailer

Here’s a new trailer from EA Sports’ Madden NFL 09. It looks like the player models were given a minor facelift and it’s an improvement from the bulky, cartoonish look of past Madden’s. The TV-style presentation is a bit polished up as well, but when it comes to Madden, it’s all about the gameplay. I also noticed some sort of “assist” mode underneath ballcarriers, giving the gamer advice on what button to press in the heat of the action. Hardcore Madden fans may not like this..I sure don’t. I’m interested in seeing what EA Sports has in store. Every year it’s “too much of the same” old Madden with updated rosters and a new gimmick or two. Hopefully 09 gets a major overhaul this time around.

Grand Theft Auto IV Launch Party

I was at Game Crazy’s Grand Theft Auto Launch Party last night in San Bruno, CA..crazy stuff. An estimated 200 people reserved a copy of GTA IV, including myself. Wild 94.9 and the CW were also at the event, giving away free prizes, including GTA IV Xbox 360 Faceplates and San Francisco Giants tickets. Game Crazy put on a great party all the way until midnight.

On another note, Game Crazy also held a NBA 2k8 Dunk Contest Tournament during the GTA IV Launch Party. The winner…yours truly! My prize? An Xbox 360 Elite! Dunking over a car sure paid off. You can view the pictures of the event and my new 360 Elite here. Shout out to the Game Crazy staff, the CW and all in attendance.
